Full-Stack Software Engineer


HomeCare Connect seeks an experienced full-stack engineer to join its team. At HomeCare Connect, full-stack software engineers develop and test applications under the guidance of senior engineers and management. They must have strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of enterprise application development. Our engineers are involved in all parts of the software lifecycle including design, development, testing and post-production support. They are expected to write code that follows established industry and team best practices, and is extensible, maintainable, and well documented.


This position is remote, so a strong work ethic, communication and organizational skills are required. The engineer must be able to meet remotely via video and audio conferencing in addition to being available via instant messaging. Meetings will be both internal within the team, and with our business users. Effective verbal and written communication skills are extremely important for this role.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and test enterprise scale solutions to support the organization's business strategy and goals
  • Deliver maintainable, extensible and performant solutions
  • Work effectively in an agile development environment
  • Understand and follow best practices throughout the entire SDLC, including coding standards, code review, revision control, and effective unit testing
  • Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to fully understand requirements, provide feedback, and request clarification as needed
  • Identify application bottlenecks and opportunities to optimize performance
  • Track and resolve software defects and provide responsive post-production support of new features and products
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment that requires both solid interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills



  • Java 8/11 -  Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Software design patterns
  • Event-driven architecture and concurrency
  • JavaScript +ES6, HTML and CSS
  • React, Angular or other JS framework experience preferred
  • Ext JS / Architect experience a plus
  • AJAX and responsive web design
  • Git, SVN or other VCS experience
  • Cloud architecture, micro-services and "serverless" applications
  • AWS - EC2, ECS, Lambda, Fargate
  • Docker experience preferred
  • SQL and/or NoSQL database experience
  • Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
  • Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodology




  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline
  • At least four years' experience in full-stack software development
  • Experience building web-based enterprise applications
  • Able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Effective working both independently and as part of a team
  • Creative, analytical problem solver
