Billing Specialist

Home Care Connect, based in Winter Park, FL, currently seeks an experienced Billing Specialist to join its Finance team. This role is responsible for performing a variety of duties including processing company billing, reviewing the billing board exceptions, calling on missing notes, analyzing billing trends, and striving to meet monthly billing goals. HomeCare Connect offers a hybrid work schedule, where employees may work a set schedule in the Winter Park office and remotely.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process all company billing including home health, DME, home mods, O&P, and infusion, using our proprietary operating system
  • Review and correct all billing exceptions to release for billing
  • Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from providers to complete billing process
  • Strive to meet billing financial daily, monthly, and yearly budget requirements by requesting notes from home health agencies and by maintaining a note follow up log for cases assigned
  • Communicate with the operations department to ensure proper documentation is added to referrals to attach for billing
  • Review and analyze month to month billing trends to provide reporting to management
  • Review and complete various billing administrative reports
  • Knowledge of billing functions; must keep informed and current of new releases which affects the billing process
  • Suggest proactive recommendations to streamline procedures and increase operational efficiency in billing
  • Work together as a cohesive team with other billing team members
  • Communicate daily on billing goals and issues to maximize billing productivity
  • Keep supervisor informed of any issues encountered which would impact the billing function or the ability to meet billing goals

  • Knowledgeable of injured worker's rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of that injured worker
  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs
  • Confidentiality of all data, including injured worker's demographics, employee information, and operations
  • Quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements


  • Associate Degree with Medical Billing and Coding Certification strongly preferred
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • PC skills including Typing, Data Entry, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
